"12,000 Acres" is an unreleased song by Kanye West that was created during the God's Country era.
The title of the song refers to the 12,000 acres that were promised, but not delivered, to African-American people that were freed from slavery. Ye has explored the idea of slavery before (ex. "New Slaves", 2018 TMZ interview), and believes that he is no longer a slave to materialism thanks to what he invests his money on.[1]
Background[]
The song was initially created in November 2019, along with many songs from God's Country.[2] It was also seen on several track lists for DONDA, although it was presumably scrapped after July 2020.[3]
