In 2018, Kanye West released his eighth studio album, ye, and a joint album with Kid Cudi titled KIDS SEE GHOSTS. He also executive produced three other albums that released in the summer, all coming from the same Wyoming sessions as his other two releases.
This year, he had two unreleased projects: LOVE EVERYONE and Yandhi.

- 31: The lone listening party for Kanye's new album is held at Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Chris Rock reveals that the new album will be titled ye.[32]

- 1: Ye's eighth studio album eponymously titled ye is released as part of the Wyoming session releases.[33]
- 8: A collaborative album between Ye and Kid Cudi is released, named KIDS SEE GHOSTS after the group's name. It's the third release of the Wyoming sessions.[34]
- 8: "Yikes" from ye is released as a radio single.[35]
- 15: Nas' twelfth studio album, NASIR, is released as the fourth release of the Wyoming sessions. It is executive produced by Kanye West. He is also featured on two songs in the album.[36]

- 9: Five years after an infamous feud between the two, Kanye appeared on Jimmy Kimmel's talk show, Jimmy Kimmel Live!.[39]
- 11: "XTCY" is made available as a free download before official release.[40]
- 24: Kanye files the petition to change his legal name from "Kanye Omari West" to simply "Ye" with no middle or last name.[41]
- 30: "XTCY" is officially released as a single.[42]

- 6: Kanye serves as the creative director for the inaugural PornHub Awards and premieres a new song, "I Love It".[43]
- 7: "I Love It", a joint song between Kanye West and Lil Pump, is released as a single.[44]
- 8: Kanye tweets "throne2 coming soon", revealing that he is working on a sequel to his and Jay-Z's collaborative album, Watch The Throne (2011).[45]
- 17: Kanye first teases his then-newest project, Yandhi, which was set to release on September 29.[46]
