In 2022, Ye embroiled himself in a series of controversies, most notably his immersion in antisemitic beliefs that led him to being ousted by the entire music industry and losing nearly all of his colleagues.

He released his demo studio album Donda 2 exclusively on the Stem Player, a device that he promoted in the early months of the year. He also made some appearances on other artists' projects through production credits and guest features.

His divorce from Kim Kardashian ended in March, with the couple reaching a settlement in November. Throughout the year, Ye harassed Kim's newer partner Pete Davidson online, and dated celebrities Julia Fox, Chaney Jones, and Juliana Nalú.

Ye also announced that he would be running for president again, starting a bid for the 2024 race that has been overshadowed and accompanied by antisemitic remarks and association with some controversial figures. In 2023, he ended his presidential campaign.
