The 64th Annual Grammy Awards, also referred to as the 2022 GRAMMYs for short, were held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on April 3, 2022. The awards were originally scheduled for January 31, 2022, but were postponed about two months due to coronavirus-related concerns.[1] Nonetheless, the awards still recognized the best in music between September 1, 2020, and November 23, 2021. Trevor Noah also hosted the ceremony.[2]
Kanye West had four solo nominations for his work on Donda, plus two more indirect ones because he helped produce "Industry Baby" by Lil Nas X. He ended the night winning two Grammys, having won the Best Melodic Rap Performance and Best Rap Song categories for "Hurricane" and "Jail," respectively.[2] These wins brought his Grammy total to 24.[3] He was banned from performing at the awards show due to his recent erratic online behavior targeting Pete Davidson and at one point the show's host Trevor Noah.[4]
