Background[]
On Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Kim Kardashian revealed that Ye initially played her the song during the Watch The Throne sessions.[1] It is unknown if JAY-Z recorded vocals for the song. The song was later brought back during the Thank God For Drugs sessions in early 2013, which is when Charlie Wilson and Stevie Wonder recorded their vocals for the song.[2] On May 7, 2013, Ye debuted the track by performing it at Metropolitan Museum of Art’s “Punk: Chaos to Couture” gala in New York City.[3] Eight days later, Ye again performed the song at the Roseland Ballroom for the Adult Swim Festival.[4] Despite this, though, the song was ultimately cut from Yeezus.
In early 2014, the song was brought back yet again for Yeezus II. KIRBY also recorded vocals for the song, which were later cut.[5] The song was most prominently featured in an episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, which revolved around Kim and Ye getting married. This version features newer vocals by Ty Dolla $ign, along with Charlie's vocals.[6] After this, though, the song was seemingly scrapped for good.
