"Black Skinhead (Remix)" is an unreleased remix to the 2013 song "Black Skinhead" by Kanye West.[1] The song features an entirely reworked beat done by DJ Maco to have a more trap-sounding beat.
Production[]
Like the base song, the song samples "War Paint / Soldier Boy" by the Black Lodge Singers as well as "Personal Jesus" by Depeche Mode.[2] The song runs at a tempo of 130 BPM in the B key with a minor mode.
Background[]
Prior to the release of Yeezus, producer DJ Maco was given the song and changed the production to create a remix for the song. This remix featured a simpler instrumental reminiscent to a trap song. The song had been played at a listening party prior to the release of the base song on Yeezus.
The song was later thrown when a different remix for the song was created that featured Miley Cyrus and Travis Scott, though that song was later repurposed into a standalone song and thrown away as well.[3] Maco would go onto Sway In The Morning in 2015 and play this remix, though not the full version.[4]
The song would leak in full on December 13, 2022.
