Chancelor Johnathan Bennett (born April 16, 1993), known professionally as Chance the Rapper, is an American rapper, singer-songwriter, and record producer from Chicago. He began to gain mainstream recognition in 2013 after releasing his second mixtape, Acid Rap, and later released his third mixtape, Coloring Book, in 2016 to further critical acclaim and attention. He released his debut studio album The Big Day in 2019.[1]
Him and Kanye West worked together in 2016, with Chance appearing on Ye's song "Ultralight Beam" and Ye on Chance's "All We Got." Chance would go on to record for the albums LOVE EVERYONE and ye (2018), with all his contributions not making it to release. Despite that, Ye announced that they would be working together for a collaborative album titled Good Ass Job later that year, which also hasn't been released. In early 2021, a video leaked of Ye yelling at Chance,[2][3] at one point blaming him for the poor reception of Chance's The Big Day album.
Chance also made demos for the tracks "Waves" and "Famous" from The Life of Pablo (2016). Some of his lines for the former were re-recorded by Chris Brown.[4]
