"Forever Mitus", also known as "Forever", is an unreleased song by Kanye West, produced by Keyon Christ. The leak is associated with the SWISH era and erroneously associated with "Can U Be".

Background[]

"Forever" was recorded two months after Glastonbury 2015. which would date it around August 2015.

The track was initially mistaken as an outro to another sought-after Kanye West track titled "Can U Be," a misunderstanding dating back to January 2016, when snippets from a private listening party leaked. The snippet, believed to be an outro to "Can U Be,"[1] later turned out to be a part of "Forever Mitus," an entirely different song. This revelation was realized much later, correcting the misconception within the Kanye West fan community. Additionally the lyrics in the snippet were commonly misheard as "...all of these WAVES..." instead of "...all the wrong things lately..."

Production[]

The production of "Forever" is credited to Keyon Christ, also known as Mitus, whose unreleased works with Kanye West continue to be of interest within the community. Keyon Christ later released a version[2] with Jaylien in 2018, and would then proceed to sell the instrumental as an NFT[3] for 8 Etherum in 2021, approximating to $32,000 USD.

"Can U Be"[]

A particular snippet that was leaked in January 2016 was initially thought to be an outro for "Can U Be," creating a surge of excitement. This misattribution led to significant fan discussions and hype around "Can U Be," with many believing it to have an extraordinary outro. However, it was later clarified that the snippet was from a separate track, "Forever Mitus." Despite this revelation, the excitement around "Can U Be / Forever Mitus" continued and fans continued to incorporate the song as an outro in fan edits and recreations of the song.

Leak[]

The full leak of "Forever" finally occurred on January 29, 2023. One of the versions of the song that leaked was the same version played at the private listening party, basically confirming the song was unrelated to "Can U Be".
