"Hold My Liquor" (originally titled "Can't Hold My Liquor"[1]) is the fifth track from Kanye West's sixth studio album, Yeezus (2013).[2] It features uncredited vocals from Justin Vernon and Chief Keef and a rock solo performed by Mike Dean.[3]
In the song, Ye raps about being in a drunken state while visiting his ex-girlfriend, saying that he wants to have sex with her one more time so he could "own her" before moving on to another woman. Justin's vocals represent the inner side of Ye that is scared and lonely, while Chief Keef's vocals represent the wilder side of Ye.

The song heavily samples Arca's 2013 song, "Feminine".[4]
Background[]
Mike Dean revealed that the idea for the song began when he and Justin were "jamming" in the studio one day.[5] Mike later compared his rock solo to "Queen shit".[6] During a listening party for Yeezus on June 11, Ye revealed that the song was nearly cut from the album.[7]
Live performances[]
"Hold My Liquor" was performed during The Yeezus Tour as the twelfth track on the setlist.[8] Ye also performed the song during the 2015 Glastonbury Festival.
