"I Love It" (originally titled "Sluts Are Awesome") is a song by Kanye West and Lil Pump that was released as a single on September 7, 2018.[1] It was later rereleased as the third track from Lil Pump's second studio album, Harverd Dropout (2019).[2] The song features vocals and production from Kanye, along with guest vocals from comedian Adele Givens.
Kanye premiered the song and the music video at the 2018 PornHub Awards, which he also co-directed.[3]
A clean version of the song, titled "I Love It [(Freaky Girl) Edit]", was released as a single on September 30, 2018.[4]
Production[]
The intro and outro of the song uses snippets from Adele Givens' 1992 episode of Def Comedy Jam. It also uses the bass from Alexander O'Neal's 1991 song, "What Is This Thing Called Love".[5]
Background[]
Most of Kanye's lyrics from the song originated from a scrapped song that was made for LOVE EVERYONE, titled "Queen Bitch," that was given to Pusha T for his DAYTONA album and turned into What Would Meek Do?.[6] At one point, Tyga recorded a third verse for the song, but it was removed.[7] Chicago rapper Valee also recorded a verse for "I Love It", though it was also scrapped because Lil Pump kicked him off of the song.[8]
After the song released, several leaked track lists revealed that the song was planned to release on Kanye's album, Yandhi, which was scrapped by 2019 in favor of JESUS IS KING.
Music video[]
As previously mentioned, the music video (which was directed by Kanye and Amanda Adelson[9]) premiered at the 2018 PornHub Awards. It features Kanye and Lil Pump walking behind Adele Givens in a hallway while wearing giant, rectangular body suits, which many people compared to characters from Roblox. The women statues in the hallway occasionally move.
In only a week, the video gained 76 million views on YouTube, surpassing Childish Gambino's "This Is America" music video as the biggest opening week for a hip-hop video on YouTube.[10]

- In an interview with Big Boy in 2019, Kanye expressed regret towards the song, saying: "Oh, I bet you the Devil was happy on that day".[11]
- After hearing Valee's now-scrapped verse for the song, Kanye wanted to make a 7-track collaborative project with him, though it is unknown if the project was ever worked on.[12]
