Scott Ramon Seguro Mescudi (born January 30, 1984), better known by his stage name Kid Cudi (often stylized as KiD CuDi), is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer, and actor. He has collaborated with Kanye West on numerous occasions, even being signed to his record label, GOOD Music, by late 2008.[1]

Relationship with Ye[]

He became one of Ye's most prolific collaborators since the two met in the late 2000s, but in September 2016, Cudi called out Ye and Drake because they "don't give a fuck about me. And they ain't fuckin with me."[2] On the same day, Kanye was performing for the Saint Pablo Tour when he addressed Cudi's comments, saying "Don’t ever mention my name in a bad manner, none of y’all.”[3] Less than a week later, Kanye apologized to Cudi during another performance in the Saint Pablo Tour. In November 2016, Cudi joined Kanye on stage and the two eventually hugged, ending their beef.[4]

Afterward, the two worked together again and in 2018, they formed a group titled KIDS SEE GHOSTS and released a collaborative album with the same name. However, in 2022, Kanye began beefing with Cudi again for associating with Pete Davidson (the newer partner of his ex, Kim Kardashian), which led to the two's friendship falling apart.[5] Cudi confirmed that the already-recorded Pusha T track "Rock N Roll" would be the last release featuring both Ye and himself.[6] However, on December 15, 2023, the two ended their beef and hugged at a Vultures listening party.[7] In an interview in January 2024, Cudi revealed that Ye sent him a sincere apology, which caught him by surprise. He went on to call Ye his "brother".[8]
