"LIKE THAT REMIX" (also known as "LIKE THAT") is a song by Metro Boomin, Future, and ¥$ (Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign) that was released as a single on Yeezy.com and YouTube on April 21, 2024.[1] It is a remix to Metro and Future's WE DON'T TRUST YOU song, "Like That", with Kendrick Lamar, and features an entirely different beat that is built around the Hooligans' vocals.
Like the first version, the song is a directed diss towards rappers Drake and J. Cole following a decade-long feud between West and Graham.
Production[]
Like the original song, this remix samples Eazy-E's 1988 song, "Eazy-Duz-It".[2] This song was also sampled in Ye and The Game's 2022 single, "Eazy". The ending samples a sound effect from the 1991 video game, Street Fighter II, though this sample was removed in the updated version.[3]
Background[]
Following Drake's album Her Loss winning over Metro's album Heroes & Villains, he began working on a collab record with rapper Future.[4] the record released on the 22nd of March of 2024, containing multiple subliminal and direct disses at Drake, the most notable song from the record being Like That featuring Kendrick Lamar whose verse directly attacked Drake.[5]
After the song had released, it had met very positive reception, going #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, marking it Future and Kendrick's third song to chart and Metro's first as a credited artist.[6] The song was met with a response from J. Cole and two from Drake; J. Cole releasing the song 7 Minute Drill with his mixtape Might Delete Later on April 5th, 2024; immediately apologizing for his diss and taking it off streaming Not long later. Drake, however, leaked his response to Kendrick, Future, Metro and Rick Ross' disses against him on the 13th of April called "Push Ups" before officially releasing it a week later.[7] The next day, Drake had previewed another diss track titled "Taylor Made Freestyle" featuring an AI deepfake of 2Pac and Snoop Dogg.[8]
On April 19, 2024, Adam22 of No Jumper confirmed a remix of the song had existed; featuring Kanye West through a tweet, confirming that he had it and unsure as to whether it was AI or not.[9] The next day, he would preview the entirety of Ye's verse to confirm of his ownership following various rumors and doubts surrounding his words.[10]

Later that day, one of the producers of the song, The Legendary Traxster had previewed Kanye and Ty Dolla $ign's new joint verse for the song in CDQ on his Instagram page, confirming the song was not AI.[11] Later that day, the song was further previewed on Justin LaBoy's The Download podcast and on DJ Pharris' radio station Power 92. [12] DJ Akademiks previewed it later on stream in better quality and played on Hot 97 radio station.[13] The song, however, was cut by the host several times as he was ranting about all the rappers involved in the beef being "Ye's sons."
The song was accidentally posted early on YEEZY.com on the 21st of April. Later that day, the song was officially released on Kanye's YouTube channel and on YEEZY.com.[14] The song was later taken down off of YouTube by Sony Music Entertainment the following day.
Multiple remixes of the song may exist, as the remix that Adam22 previewed features a slightly different verse from Kanye and the original beat. A version with Pusha T, Kendrick Lamar and Kanye all on it is said to exist. However, Metro himself has denied this and it has been said that the Pusha T remix is for something else entirely, providing conflicted sources.
The song was meant to have been released as the lead single to VULTURES 2 according to trusted sources, however it's unclear as to if the song was on any prior track listings. If the Drake and Kendrick beef were to continue, the song would have been released a week earlier to promote the release of the album. If the beef didn't continue the song was still going to be released before primarily to promote VULTURES 2, like "TALKING". Plans fell through, however, as the album was pushed back after missing its second scheduled release date of May 3rd which was due to a complete sound direction change for the album.
The song was later re-released on April 24 with only Ye and Ty Dolla $ign's verse, leaving out Future's.[15]
Lyrics[]
[Intro]
You know we had to get The Hooligans up here, we gon' take this pussy n*gga out
Yo, Dot, I got you
Woah-oah-oah, woah-oah-oah-oah-oah

You treat a bad bitch like she average

Shouldn't have never let me get money again
On my Katt Williams when they get funny again
Yeah, you see they tried to count me out, I like that
We just hit a number one, we right back
Five hundred down on the bottom, five hundred up at the top
Titanium grills, call that "smile on the rocks"
I done had everything that you able to got
I invented drill too, I ain't gon' lie, it was Chop
Ayy, another one, volume one (Yee)
Then it's two and three (Yee!), VULTURES on repeat (Yee!)
Still feel like Pablo, drug dealer chic (Yee)
Pluto sent the drones, it hit like Metro beats
It's a wrap for n*ggas (Yee)
Where's Lucian? Serve your master, n*gga
You caught a little bag for your masters, didn't ya?
Lifetime deal, I feel bad for n*ggas (Bad for n*ggas)
Y'all so outta sight, outta mind
I can't even think of a Drake line
Play J. Cole, get the pussy dry
Play this shit back a hundred-thirty times
[Chorus: Future]
Young dope dealer, sellin' dope, is you like that? (If you like that)
Kickin' doors, kickin' in doors, is you like that? (Yeah)
Young throwed n*gga, sellin' lows, is you like that? (Yeah)
All '24, you on go, is you like that? (If you like that)
N*ggas from the bottom really like that (If you like that)
Steppin' in Balencis if you like that (Like that)
Pop another bottle if you like that (If you like that)
[Post-Chorus]
He was once a thug from around the way (Phew)
[Verse 2: Future]
Bitch didn't get no AP, she got Patek and Philippe
Takin' off to the moon, got Chanaynay on my feet, mm

Came out the mud, ain't no dirt on my Prada (Yeah)
[Chorus]
Young dope dealer, sellin' dope, is you like that? (If you like that)
Kickin' doors, kickin' in doors, is you like that? (Yeah)
Young throwed n*gga, sellin' lows, is you like that? (Yeah)
All '24, you on go, is you like that? (If you like that)
N*ggas from the bottom really like that (If you like that)
Steppin' in Balencis if you like that (If you like that)

Woah-oah-oah, woah-oah-oah-oah-oah
Woah-oah-oah, woah-oah-oah-oah-oah
[Outro]
(Perfect!)
Trivia[]
- The original cover art for the song bears resemblance to the cover art for Ye's 2018 single, "Lift Yourself", likely due to the fact that both songs are meant to be Drake disses.
