The song was initially created by Ty Dolla $ign for his fourth studio album Beach House 4 in early-2023. The song appeared on the final Japan track list for his album in July as the closing track behind Motion (Remix) which had appeared to have been considered as a bonus track.[2]
The song appeared on the third Bad Bitch Play Book track list from the Japan sessions as the closing track to the album.[2] The song was worked on again during the Italy sessions with production from Ojivolta, though the song was not touched again from then on. The song appeared on the infamous 40-track rendition of Bad Bitch Play Book.
Ty Dolla $ign has been confirmed to have recorded vocals for the song, although it has been confirmed Kanye West has not. The song was initially said to be the original version of "Crying" by Sekou, although trusted leaker Luit later confirmed that as false.[3]
