Brandon McCartney (born August 17, 1989,) is known professionally as Lil B and The BasedGod. Lil B is an American rapper. He is one of the biggest pioneers of cloud rap, as well, he is known as one of the most influential rappers of all time. He has a vast and lengthy discography lasting more than 70 mixtapes. He was born in Berkeley, California, USA.

Brandon originally started in the rap group "The Pack". During the mid "The Pack" era, Lil B dropped his debut mixtape with fellow "The Pack" member "Young L". Lil B released his first solo mixtape "I'm Thraxx" On September 24, 2009. Soon later he dropped his now-famous project "6 Kiss" (December 22, 2009)

History (w/ Kanye West)

Lil B and Kanye West have had a very documented history with each other, while not having any official collaborations.

Using Kanye West's old blog Kanye reposted the music video of "SWAG OD" by Soulja Boy and Lil B.

On October 24, 2010, Lil B made a now infamous tweet stating:

"If Kanye West Dosent Acknowledge Me Over Twitter And Work With Me On Music, When i see him im going to f**k him in the *ss - Lil B"

This tweet got a lot of criticism for its odd nature. On VLADTV, Lil B was interviewed about this tweet. Brandon praises Kanye and denies he is gay in the interview.

During the MTV Woodies Awards, Left Field Woodie (2011) Kanye West won. This is when Lil B and a friend interrupted the show parodying the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards incident. Sadly Kanye West couldn't make it to the event.

Sometime in 2022 a remix of Forever (SWISH era) featuring Lil B was leaked in snippet form by Waterfalls. On June 17, 2025, the song had leaked in its full length.
