Kanye West has gotten into feuds with many celebrities, the most popular of which is Taylor Swift. This is an incomplete list of all the people that he has formed negative relationships with.
See List of controversies for a list of divisive actions that he has done over the years and List of lawsuits for a list of legal matters that has been involved in.
Active[]
Music[]
- Taylor Swift (since 2009): Ye's most infamous rivalry is Taylor Swift, who he interrupted at the 2009 VMAs in a viral event that had everyone, including then-president Barack Obama weighing in. Despite relations cooling by 2016, Ye reignited[1] the rivalry with his song "Famous," in which he claimed that he made Taylor famous and that the two may "still have sex." The video also features a fake nude of Taylor in bed with the rapper.[2] Ye's wife at the time, Kim Kardashian, attempted to justify a controversial lyric, only for that claim to be disproven years later.[3][4][5] Ye and Taylor have never reconciled.[6][7]
- Talib Kweli (since 2021): Since his Drink Champs interview in late 2021, the two have been on bad terms. Talib once spoke on Ye's ghostwriters and claimed that Rick Rubin connected Ye to Candace Owens.[8]
- Kid Cudi (2022-2024, since 2025): Cudi got on Ye's bad side since he began associating himself with Pete Davidson around early 2022.[9] After Cudi called Ye a "dinosaur," Ye seemingly responded by saying that he could not be on his "mama album" on the song "SECURITY."[10] Rolling Loud's decision to replace Ye as a headliner with Cudi resulted in fans throwing water bottles on stage and the artist ending his act early.[11][12][13] Ye also shared a few Instagram posts that mocked Cudi's relevance.[14][15] The two appeared to be on better terms during the Vultures era (with the artist set to appear on "Gun to My Head"), but that song was delayed and Ye started hating on Cudi again by March 2025. In May of that same year, Cudi would testify against Diddy in court, someone Ye had vocally advocated for the freedom of.[16][17] Cudi later said he was "done" with Ye in an interview.[18][19]
- Lucian Grainge (since 2024): Ye takes issue with the CEO of Universal Music Group, even claiming that Lucian is Drake's "master" on the "Like That" remix.[20][21]
- Kendrick Lamar (since 2025): Despite embracing Kendrick Lamar as recently as 2024 (in the form of a "Like That" remix), Ye has dissed Kendrick's talent[22] and said that he doesn't like Kendrick's hit song "Not Like Us," among many other things.[23]
- Metro Boomin and Future (since 2025): Ye said Future is washed after he appeared on Carti's 2025 album MUSIC.[22] He also claimed that Metro Boomin and Future stopped communicating with him after he name-dropped Lucian Grainge on the "Like That" remix.
- Iggy Azalea (since 2025): Ye has made misogynistic comments about rapper Iggy Azalea, Playboi Carti's ex-girlfriend and mother of his son Onyx.[24] In turn, she went public about Ye once telling her that he masturbates to her pictures, which makes her feel uncomfortable.[25]
- FKA Twigs (since 2025): Kanye complained about his daughter North being dressed "all grown" in one of FKA Twigs's videos.[26] Shortly after, FKA Twigs posted a story about how she chose to work with North because of the song's message about becoming a star.[27]
- Cardi B (since 2025): Ye has claimed that Cardi B is "used" and that she may be irrelevant in seven years.[28]
- Tyler, The Creator (since 2025): Ye said in March 2025 that Tyler "has never made a memorable song."[29] Tyler would later like an Instagram reel sympathizing over a controversial Ye rant, so it's unknown where their relationship is currently.[30]
- Cassie (since 2025): Ye has backed Diddy amidst his sexual assault allegations and dissed his ex Cassie, claiming that she extorted her ex-partner.[31]
- Frank Ocean (since 2025): In an interview with DJ Akademiks, Ye asserted that he makes music in any genre better than any other artist alive. He added that when he made "Moon," he ended Frank's career.[32]
- J. Cole (since 2025): Ye said that he hates J. Cole "so much" and that no one listens to the rapper "after losing their virginity."[33]
Television[]
- Cast of Saturday Night Live (2009-2013, since 2018): Kanye said that the team could "kiss [his] whole ass" on his 2010 single "Power" because they made fun of him for his VMA interruption. For a while, SNL's relationship was better, because he managed to perform "Black Skinhead" and "New Slaves" on the show in 2013, as well as "Highlights" and "Ultralight Beam" in 2016.[34] In 2018, Ye appeared on SNL for his last time, performing "I Love It," "We Got Love," and "Ghost Town." At the end of the show, he gave an off-script rant about a number of things, donning a "Make America Great Again" hat. He was officially banned from the show in 2022 because of his comments about cast member Pete Davidson.[35]
- Pete Davidson (since 2018): After Ye's SNL rant in 2018, Davidson made fun of him for not taking his meds.[36] Ye would never forgive Pete for these comments, and only go after him more because he dated Kim Kardashian after her divorce from Ye.[37] At the apex of his beef in 2022, Ye frequently called the comedian "Skete" and posted about his hypothetical death.[38] Davidson reportedly went to trauma therapy because of these attacks.[39]
Influencers[]
- The Kardashian family (since 2022) has been subject to insults from Ye, mostly stemming from his divorce from Kim Kardashian. Most recently, he has claimed that his kids are being sex trafficked by the Kardashians and began spelling their surname as "KKKardashian".[40]
- Kim Kardashian (since 2022): Ye's opinion on his ex-wife Kim has greatly soured since their divorce which lasted from 2021 to 2022 and served as a recurring theme for Donda.[41] Ye has lobbed insults at Pete Davidson, Kim's partner following their divorce. Although Ye has been able to arrange a joint custody arrangement with his kids, she is reportedly considering legal action to strip his access.[42] The Kardashian family previously hindered Ye's ability to access Chicago at her 2022 birthday party.[43][44][45]
- Ben Shapiro (since 2022): Ye went after Shapiro after he denounced the rapper's antisemitism. Ye has also claimed that Shapiro accepted thousands of dollars from one of his enemies.[46]
- YesJulz (since 2024): Julieanna Goddard, better known as YesJulz, was hired to work at YZY sometime in 2023, for the Vultures rollout. However, she was fired shortly in March 2024 for gross NDA violations. A $8 million USD lawsuit was also filed against her, all related to her leaking rollout information.[47][48] Julz does look semi-fondly on working with Ye, though Ye hasn't stated any opinions on Julz since the lawsuit.
Companies[]
- Adidas (since 2022): Adidas has worked with Ye on distributing his Yeezy shoe line. Their relationship began to sour in summer 2022 when the company started excluding Ye from distribution conversations[49], but escalated once they started cutting ties with him due to his antisemitic remarks and his "White Lives Matter" shirt incident.[15][50][51][52] Ye has since used the phrase "fuck Adidas" at concerts and in music.[53][54][55]
Populations[]
- Jewish people: Ye has claimed that Jewish people are in control of important institutions and are discriminating against him. These antisemitic views have only grown since October 2022.
- White people: In a March 2025 video, Ye said that Playboi Carti's request for a feature from North West, perceived as an implicit show of support for Kim Kardashian, was part of an effort for black people to fight within themselves.
- Black people: Ye had previously been seen wearing Ku Klux Klan-inspired outfits in late 2023 to 2024, but none were explicitly offensive towards black people or even defending the KKK.[56] However, in 2025, during the CUCK era, he used KKK imagery often, which was objectively hurtful to the black community and was, in some part, defending the hate group.[57][58][59]
Dormant[]
This list includes both people/groups that Ye has reconciled with, as well as those that he has not quite come to terms with but also has not spoken about for some time.
Music[]
- John Legend (since 2018): The two first split ways when Ye publicly embraced Donald Trump in 2018, which Legend disapproves of. Although they seemingly reconciled sometime afterward, Legend's disapproval of the rapper's 2020 presidential bid re-opened their rift.[60] Ye name-dropped Legend at the height of his White Lives Matter shirt controversy in October 2022.[61]
- Nicki Minaj (since 2022): Kanye and Nicki's relationship seemed to be on good terms, until Nicki said she doesn't "f--k with clowns" when she stopped a performance of "Monster" in July 2022.[62] Ye never responded directly to the situation, apart from quietly unfollowing her on Instagram.[63] The one-sided feud might have ended when Nicki thanked him for helping her in her career when she accepted the MTV Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award the following month.[64] In late 2023, she said that the "train has left the station" when it comes to working with Ye on properly releasing "New Body."[65]
- Soulja Boy (2021-2022): Soulja Boy was upset at Ye for leaving him off the song "Remote Control" on Donda.[66] He thanked Ye after he appeared on "First Time In A Long Time" from that album's sequel.[67][68]
- Lil Boosie and Diddy (2022): Both of these rappers condemned Ye's decision to wear the "White Lives Matter" shirt in October 2022, prompting Ye to go after them.[69] Ye has since backed Diddy amidst his sexual assault allegations.[70] Diddy also appeared at a Ye concert in March 2024.[71]
- Jay-Z (2016-2017, 2025): During a Saint Pablo Tour performance, Ye complained about Jay-Z not scheduling a playdate between the two rappers' children. Jay-Z mentioned the beef in a song from his 2017 album 4:44. By the end of that year, Jay-Z told The New York Times that the two rappers were back on speaking terms.[72] In 2021, the two reunited on the song "Jail" from Donda. In March 2025, Ye abruptly claimed that Jay-Z's younger children were mentally handicapped[73], only to apologize for his remarks the day after.[74] Jay-Z's mother-in-law Tina Knowles condemned Ye's attacks.[75]
- Drake (2019-2025): The two prominent rappers were on good terms until Pusha T started his own beef with Drake, best known for revealing to the world Drake's then-unknown son Adonis Graham. Ye is widely believed to have tipped Push on that secret.[76][77] The song "Lift Yourself" was originally going to be sent to Drake, but Ye rapped over it so that Drake couldn't use it.[78] The two's beef reignited when the anticipation for Donda and Certified Lover Boy in late 2021 became a competition. Drake "leaked" "Life of the Party" before it was properly released. The two ended up reconciling their differences at a benefit concert for Gangster Disciples leader Larry Hoover in December of the same year[79][80], but it has since restarted in 2024. Ye restarted the beef by dissing Drake for taking Lil Durk out of Vultures and by issuing his own version of Metro Boomin and Future's hit song "Like That," which was originally the starting song for the Drake-Kendrick Lamar beef.[81][82] Drake has been mentioned several times in tweets from March 2025. On an unreleased version of Ye's controversial song "HEIL H***ER", Ye calls Drake the F-slur[83]; this would be removed from the released version due to Ye's newfound praise for Drake.[84]
- Ty Dolla $ign (2025): Despite Ty having confirmed VULTURES 3 is on its way a few days prior[85], he appeared in Ye's March 19 list of betrayals, likely because he tried to distance himself indirectly from Ye's antisemitic remarks in February 2025.[86] It's likely that they're on good terms since Ty had liked a post of John Monopoly saying Ye's music is advancing[87], played unreleased Ye-related songs on stream[88], and said he'd be down for VULTURES 3.[89]
- Travis Scott (2025): Ye previously claimed that Travis is one of many celebrities who turned their back on him when he "spoke the truth."[29] Travis later shouted out Ye in Delhi, India, all while performing GOD'S COUNTRY, stating that the two were going to make something "special". They later performed together at Tokyo, Japan for Travis's Circus Maximum tour.[90]
- Playboi Carti (since 2025): Ye got mad after he asked Kim Kardashian to arrange for him to work with North West on music shortly after the release of his long-awaited album MUSIC (2025). Ye ended up taking shots at Kardashian, Carti, and Iggy Azalea, Carti's ex.[91] Ye also claimed that Jewish people stopped him from appearing on Carti's album.[92] On March 19, Carti would respond, stating: "YE STFU". This tweet would proceed to go viral.[93] After that, Ye shared police bodycam footage of Carti’s ex-girlfriend telling police he strangled her.[94] For an unknown reason, Ye posted "I love Carti" on Twitter with no explanation.[95] A while later, in late April of the same year, Ye would explain a story about how Carti pulled a gun out near him at the Chateau Marmont hotel in Los Angeles.[96] On May 21, 2025, the situation escalated with Ye releasing ALIVE (1.0), and that same day, Playboi Carti responded to Ye teasing it, accusing Ye of stealing the song from him and releasing his version of the song onto his alternate Instagram page in response.[97] Eventually, on October 30, Carti would shout out Ye at his Atogonist tour in Chicago two times.[98][99] It's unknown if this is related to Travis's mention around the same time.
Television[]
- Writers of South Park (c. 2010-2013): Although Ye embraced a 2009 South Park episode about him, he would go on to say lines like "choke a South Park writer with a fish stick" on songs like "Gorgeous" (2010), "Made in America" (2011), and "Life of the Party" (2021).[100][101][102][103][104] South Park also made fun of Ye and his then-wife Kim Kardashian in a 2013 episode, and of Ye for his antisemitic comments and embrace of Hitler in a 2023 episode, but neither of these have prompted a direct comment from the rapper.[105]
- Trevor Noah (c. 2022): Ye used a racial slur when referring to 2022 Grammys host and comedian Trevor Noah, which resulted in the institution banning Ye from performing at the ceremony. Noah tried to ease relations around the same time that it was reported that he had no role in the Academy's decision to suspend Ye.[106][107] Later that year, Noah was mentioned in a tweet aimed at Vogue editor Gabriella Karefa-Johnson.[108]
Other[]
- Donald Trump (2022-2025): Since the 2016 presidential election cycle, Ye has aligned himself politically with Donald Trump, even enthusiastically meeting with him in the White House during his first presidency. Ye became adversarial with him after Trump told Ye that he can't win the presidency in 2024, which Trump ended up winning.[109] Kanye has since backed up his decision to politically endorse Trump.
- Gabriella Karefa-Johnson (2022): Ye went after a Vogue editor for condemning Ye's decision to wear the "White Lives Matter" shirt at Yeezy Season 9. Various celebrities came to her defense.[108][110][111][112]
- Gigi Hadid[112], Hailey[110], and Justin Bieber[111][113] (2022): Ye came after these people for defending Karefa-Johnson in late 2022.
- Elon Musk (2022-2023): Ye was mad at Musk for banning him from X/Twitter due to his antisemitic comments.[114][115] At one point, he posted unflattering pictures of the billionaire and claimed he was "half-Chinese."[116] He has since been mostly quiet about Musk after being reinstated on the social media platform, namedropping him on "CARNIVAL".[117][118]
- Mark Zuckerberg (2023): Ye was mad at Zuckerberg for his Instagram account being deactivated from April 18, 2023, to December 17, 2023, due to his antisemitic remarks.[119][120][121] Ye changed his Instagram handle from @kanyewest to just @ye in 2024.[122]
Other[]
2022 list[]
On February 19, 2022, Ye reposted a list of people that he has beef with. It included 35 names.[123]
Virgil Abloh[]
Virgil Abloh was a renowned fashion designer that was close to Kanye throughout the years. He helped design the covers of Watch The Throne (2011) and Yeezus (2013). Abloh passed away in 2021 after a bout with cancer, and Ye appeared at his funeral. Unexpectedly, in February 2025, Ye said "FUCK VIRGIL" and claimed that Virgil used him.[124] One month later, Ye called Playboi Carti "a dumber version of Virgil"[125] and said the designer turned his back on him when he "spoke the truth."[29]
2025 list[]
On March 19, 2025, Ye tweeted a 22-entry list titled "THE BETRAYAL", including: Virgil Abloh, John Legend, Kim Kardashian, Travis Scott, Playboi Carti, Big Sean, Jay-Z, Ty Dolla $ign, Tyler, The Creator, Lil Durk, Common, Kid Cudi, Pusha T, Don C, Amber Rose, the Kardashian family, Adidas, Demna/Balenciaga, his own kids, his own family, the Black community, and "of course the Jews."
