"MR MIYAGI" (initially erroneously titled "MR MIAGI") is a song by Kanye West that was released as a part of his eleventh solo studio album, DONDA 2 (2025) under the name "DONDA".[1] The song features verses from both Future and Playboi Carti and features production done by AyoAA and MIKE DEAN.
The song's title, which is sung in the chorus, is a reference to the character, Mr. Miyagi, from the Karate Kid film series.[2]
Background[]
The song is rumored to have been created in around late January or early February 2022. Several people recorded reference tracks for the song, including Fat Money, Fya Man, and Malik Yusef. On February 18, Ye posted a tentative track list for Donda 2, which listed "Mr. Miyagi" as the fourteenth track.[3] While the song was previewed at the Donda Experience Performance on February 22, it was not uploaded to the Stem Player by February 24. Playboi Carti recorded his vocals for the song on the same day as the Donda 2 LP.[4] In November 2022, a finished version of the song was leaked with cleaner vocals from Ye. It was planned to release on the Stem Player, but Ye instead scrapped it because he didn't want it to release.[5]

- This is one of Carti's first songs made where he uses his deep voice. The deep voice would eventually debut on Travis Scott's 2023 hit single, "FE!N", and was prominently used throughout his MUSIC album.
