Kanye West Wiki
Not to be confused with a song of the same name made in the 2021 DONDA: WITH CHILD sessions featuring Justin Austin and Playboi Carti.

"Made It" (also known as "Made It This Far" and "24 Songs") was the eleventh and second to final track of Digital Nas' upcoming record, TAMPERING WITH SOUND (2024). The song features verses from Playboi Carti, Kanye West and Vory and features production done by Digital Nas himself.

Background[]

The beat to the song was initially created in 2021 during the Pio Pico studio sessions for Kanye West's album at the time Donda and had initially been titled "Tower".[1] It's unclear who the song was intended for at the time as it was likely not for Carti at this period in time, though has been speculated to have been intended for Digital Nas himself or Kanye West as the freestyle "Miracles" which Nas had produced was said to have been recorded that same day, though this is only speculation. If this is the case, it's unclear if Kanye had actually recorded at this point in time as it has been said Kanye had only recorded for a fraction of the beats Nas had shown him.[2]

The beat was later handed off to Playboi Carti amidst the Mercedes-Benz sessions who recorded for the song and had intended to release the song on his scrapped album Narcissist.[3] Vory would also record for the outro fo the song and the song was in Carti's possession for at least two demos before he ultimately scrapped it.[4]

After the song had been scrapped for a second time, Digital Nas himself had decided to take it for himself for his album DN3 in late-November of that same year. He would also state he had a song between him, Playboi Carti and Kanye West on DN3, though when DN3 had leaked the song had not been present,[5] It's likely this was the Carti and Kanye song he was talking about and the song had not been seen on the album as Kanye had yet to record a legitimate take.

In 2023, Digital Nas would display the open verse file he had sent to Kanye to record for.[6] Kanye's verse had still likely not been finished at this point, as Nas would later share messages between him and writer Fat Money stating he needed "help with this one".[7] Given the way it was worded, however, the reference could have been for Nas' verse. The following year, Digital Nas would go on his burner to post the track list to his new album TAMPERING WITH SOUND, featuring "MADE IT" as the eleventh track.[8] The album had however missed its planned release date and past this point the song had not been revisited, likely due to clearance issues from Carti's side.

On February 2nd of 2025, Vory would share his version of the song on Instagram, asking for Carti's clearance so that he could release it. The song at this point in time was almost three minutes longer than previous versions.[9] It's unclear if Vory actually had possession of the song at that point and who is currently in possession of the song at this point or if it is ever planned to be met with a release.

Lyrics[]

[Intro: Playboi Carti]
Racecars outside
I got hoes tryna ride out
Make 'em wanna find out, everything on my body
Shawty gotta find out, I ain't tryna hide nun'
Everything I do is different (Oh, yeah)
I am lost in the Matrix
I need a face-lift, drive in my spaceship
Get out my space, bitch, get out my face, bitch
I can't believe we made it this far
I can't believe we made it this far
I can't believe we made it this far
I can't believe we made it this far
Hand in the sky (Hand in the— ahh)
I can't believe I made it this far
I'm just tryna tell you how I feel, tell you how I feel

[Verse: Playboi Carti]
I'm just tryna tell you how I feel, tell you how I feel
I been on tour, yeah, I been on all that
Uh, too much money, turned down a deal, turned down a deal
Too much money, turned down a deal, turned down a deal
We riding Bronco's right through the hill
We riding Bronco's right through the hill
She fuck me pronto when I call her, yeah
Ain't no stoppin' us, we goin' out of here
They know we poppin' now, they can't control none
I got that thing on me, I'm really blowin' smoke
You know this ain't no motherfuckin' joke
Everything on go-oh
This that type of—, uh
Let the real stay, uh, let the fake get gone
Let the fake go home, tell 'em n*ggas go, leave my ass alone
I been on my own, I been all alone
I fell on my face, I got up my own
I fell on my face, got up on my own
I fell on my face, got up on my own
I just left the studio, did—, uh
I just left the studio, did twenty-four songs
I been on my shit, I been off the grid
I can't disappear, I gotta watch my kid
I gotta watch my shit, I gotta watch my sis’
Everything gettin’ bigger, shit don't make no sense, shit don't make no—, uh
I didn't answer the phone, n*ggas always mad
I don't give a fuck at all, I don't give a fuck at all
Real n*gga, I ball, told these n*ggas, yeah
They ain't believe nun' at all, they ain't believe us at all
They ain't believe us at all, they ain't believe us at all
Believe us at all (Uh-uh-uh-uh)

[Outro: Vory & Playboi Carti]
Can't believe that we made it this far (Uh, uh)
Can't believe that we made it this far
Look, mama, now your son is a star (Uh, uh)
Can't believe that we made it this far
Standin' on your shoulders, in God
When life get too hard, I think about everybody I been scarred from
I even broke bread even though I should've starved them
I'm goin' out a hero, baby
Comma, comma, zero, baby
Angels callin', demons callin'
I put them on threeway, baby
I've been keeping them shooters with me on payroll lately

Trivia[]

  • If Vory was in possession of the song and a Pio Pico-era Kanye freestyle for it does exist, this would mean every artist involved in the creation of the song (excluding Fat Money) has owned the song at some point in time.
