"On Sight" is the opening track from Kanye West's sixth studio album, Yeezus (2013).

The song is notable because of its extremely loud and electronic nature, unlike most of Kanye's opening tracks. In an interview with Big Boy, he explained that his more "aggressive" approach was done to convey his anger felt throughout Yeezus.

Production

Midway through the song, Kanye uses audio from the Holy Name of Mary Choral Family's 1986 song, "Sermon (He'll Give Us What We Really Need)".

Background

Like many songs in Yeezus, "On Sight" was originally created during the Thank God For Drugs sessions in early 2013. The versions from TGFD had a slightly longer instrumental compared to the released version. It was first previewed at the Governors Ball Music Festival on June 9.

Live performances

Ye performed the song during The Yeezus Tour as the opening track on the setlist.
