The track was created during the Italy sessions in early September of 2023. The track originated as a Ty solo[2], before a rough freestyle from Ye, and Leon Thomas[3] recorded a reference track for the song. Over this reference track, an incredibly early AI-generated Ye filter was added, which can be heard in a version, damn james! previewed.[4] This is the first known time Ye ever used AI technology in his music, setting the trend for his future works. This AI version dates back to September 11, 2023.
As briefly mentioned above, damn james! previewed the song, specifically on November 21, 2025, he proceeded in this action. James played three versions: the Ty solo[2], the Ye freestyle[5], and the AI version[4]. He also showed the filenames for every version in the sessions.[3]
