Background[]
The song's initial freestyle was recorded on November 4th, 2019.[3] The song at this point was a title track as the album at this point had also been named Palm Springs. The song appeared as the 12th track on an early track list for Palm Springs.[4]
On November 21st, KayCyy had recorded a reference track for the song.[5] Other artists had also recorded a reference for the song previously although are undated, including but not limited to The-Dream, CyHi and Tony Williams.[6] The track was seen one last time on a track listing for JESUS IS LORD.[7]
The song was brought back for the DONDA: WITH CHILD sessions in 2020, although very briefly. The song was last worked on on November 14th of that year and was a reference track done by Ant Clemons that had appeared on a track list as the 10th track.[8]
