Peter Michael Davidson (born November 16, 1993) is an American comedian and actor, known for being a cast member on the NBC late-night sketch comedy Saturday Night Live since 2014.[1] He dated Ye's ex-wife Kim Kardashian for just over half of 2022.

History[]

Kanye made an appearance on Saturday Night Live in September 2018 that ended with a controversial speech about his decision to wear a MAGA hat. Pete was seen leaving the stage on the broadcast. Not long after the incident, Pete voiced his opinion on the situation on the show's "Weekend Update" portion where he joked about preferring Ye on his meds instead of off of them. This enraged Ye, leading him to record the last known version of unreleased song "Slave Name." In the demo, he is heard saying things such as, "fuck you n***a you can't tell me what the fuck to do!"[2]

Ye's beef with Pete went under the radar for a few years since they were not known to have interacted with each other. Things flared up again once Ye's divorcing partner Kim Kardashian was seen with Pete in public in late 2021. This prompted Ye to go on social media and aim shots at Pete. In these rants, he referred to Pete as "SKETE," combining his name with some vulgar slang. In January 2022, Ye released the song "Eazy," which included the line, "God saved me from that crash / Just so I could beat Pete Davidson's ass (Who?)"[3] One of the music videos for the song featured Ye burying a clay recreation of Pete, and the other having the monkey from the single's artwork beat him up beside an ambulance. The music videos were released a week apart.[4]

Pete and Kim broke up in August 2022, but three days later, Ye posted a pic on Instagram that claimed Pete was found dead at 28.[5][6] Not long after, it was reported Pete was in trauma therapy due to Ye's remarks.[7]
