"Piss On Your Grave" is the eighth track from Travis Scott's debut studio album, Rodeo (2015).[1] It was released as a single on September 1, 2015, three days prior to the album's release.[2] The song features verses from Kanye West, who initially owned the song.[3]
A different version of the song was released on Apple Music, featuring different vocal effects on Kanye's verse.[4]
In the song, Travis and Kanye go against the white executives of America who doubted both artists.[5]
Background[]
As previously noted, Kanye initially made the song in 2014 for his now-unreleased album, Yeezus 2. In July 2014, Kanye played around 20 tracks from the album at a club in London, one of which was "Piss On Your Grave".[6][7] In 2015, Kanye gave the song to Travis Scott for his then-upcoming album, Rodeo, in exchange for Travis' demo song, "FML".[3]
Music video[]
On October 30, 2015, a music video for the song (directed by Nabil) was released.[8] In it, Travis and Kanye rap their verses in an eerie and spacious forest.
