"SECURITY" is the ninth track from Kanye West's eleventh solo studio album, DONDA 2 (2025).[1] The song debuted at the Donda Experience Performance on February 22, before being released on the Stem Player the following day.[2][3][1] An updated version of the song was released on March 7 with more beeps in the instrumental.

The song is known for its lyrics that seem to threaten to put his ex-family's "security as risk," as the chorus implies. This could be in response to the family temporarily blocking access to his daughter's birthday party just weeks before the song's release.[4]

Production[]

The track prominently samples "Wanna Trap" by Mica Levi, from the soundtrack to the 2021 film, Zola.[5]

Background[]

Security was first recorded in 2021 shortly after the release of the Deluxe edition of Kanye West's tenth studia album Donda. It features production by Digital Nas, who had worked closely with Ye on the production of Donda, with production from him on the songs "Junya" and "Remote Control."[6]

The song has a total of 17 different versions, all featuring the same sample, with reference tracks for the song being done by DaBaby, Baby Keem, CyHi, Fya Man, Token, and Fat Money.[7][8]

Following being denied access into his now ex-wife Kim Kardashian's home and attending his daughter's birthday party, this song is believed to be written in response to the situation and to take aim at Pete Davidson who was believed to have hired extra security following Kanye threatening him on his and The Game's song "Eazy."[9]

On February 18, 2022, Kanye posted a tentative track list for Donda 2, listing "Security" as the opening track.[10] However, it was later moved to the sixth track.

On April 24, 2025. Digital Nas played security on a twitch stream, containing a new vocal take.[11]

Lyrics[]

[Intro: DJ Akademiks & Kanye West]
Yo, Kim K and motherfuckin' Kris Jenner, man
I rebuke y'all in the name of Jesus
Allow my man Ye to raise his black children
Y'all white heathens should not be allowed to control a black man's child and involve them in all type of demonic debauchery to corrupt i-i-innocent souls
No, you can't be on my mama album

[Chorus: Kanye West]
Pops home, I ain't gettin' frisked
I put your security at risk
Pops home, I ain't gettin' frisked
I put your security at risk
I put the security at risk
Okay, we gon' make this an event?
Y'all gon' need security for this

[Verse 1: Kanye West]
Hmm, yeah, uh
I ain't getting frisked, I put your security at risk
I walk in the crib, no gettin' frisked
Butt-naked in the kitchen cooking grits
Tell yo' mama, "Come give me a kiss"
Security gon' need security for this

[Chorus: Kanye West]
I ain't gettin' frisked
I put your security at risk
I ain't gettin' frisked
Don't put the security at risk

[Verse 2: Kanye West]
Never take the family picture off the fridge
Never stand between a man and his kids
Y'all ain't got enough security for this
Y'all ain't got enough security for this
I put your security at risk
I make your security quit
Like, "We don't get paid enough for this"

Trivia[]

  • Many people believed that the line, "No, you can't be on my momma album" was a diss aimed at Kid Cudi, whom Ye had been beefing with in February 2022. However, it was revealed that the line was recorded before their beef erupted.[12]
