"Selfish" is a song by Kanye West that was released as the twelfth track from his demo studio album, Donda 2, on February 24, 2022.[1] The song features vocals from the late XXXTENTACION.

Background[]
The first version of the song was a throwaway recorded by XXXTENTACION in 2017. He sang a small portion of the song on Instagram Live in November of the same year.[1]
The song would go untouched for an additional 5 years before being used by Kanye for Donda 2 in February 2022. Don Toliver, CyHi, and will.i.am had all recorded references tracks for Kanye's verse, but none of them were used.[3] Shenseea and Jack Harlow had also recorded features for the song, neither of which appeared on the final Stem Player version.
On February 18, Kanye posted a tentative track list for Donda 2, listing "Selfish" as the fifteenth track.[4] While the song wasn't previewed at the Miami LP, it was uploaded to the Stem Player on February 24 alongside the rest of the Donda 2 tracks.
As of it's latest update, a version with an unfinished Ski Mask The Slump God verse had leaked.[5] It is unknown who owns the song at this point, but it is very likely that Kanye is no longer in possession of it.
