Background

The song is confirmed by trusted sources in the Ty Dolla $ign community to have initially began as a song made during the VULTURES sessions. In an interview with Big Boy on March 15, 2024, Ty would state he made "two songs with Rich in Saudi", one of which being "CARNIVAL". It's likely the other song made in that session had been this song, though whether Ye had ever recorded for the song is unclear, though unlikely as further versions of the song had not featured him.

Regardless of if Ye had recorded for the song, following the release of VULTURES 2 when Ty's focus had shifted onto his own solo record, TYCOON, the song had been brought back into consideration for a short amount of time. However, the song was later given to DDG in March of the following year who would record for the song on stream. According to Ty Dolla $ign fan page Ty Dolla $ign Brasil, the song had not been intended for TYCOON past that point.

The song would release as a part of DDG's album blame the chat on May 2nd, 2025 as the second track to the record.
