"TIME MOVING SLOW" is a song by ¥$ (Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign) that was released as the second track on their second studio album, VULTURES 2, on August 3, 2024.[1] The song features uncredited vocals from the Hooligans.[2]
Background[]
The song was first seen on several leaked track lists during the Italy sessions. Quentin Miller recorded a reference track for the song on October 4, 2023.[3] On December 8, Ty Dolla $ign posted a track list for his and Ye's then-upcoming album, listing "Time Moving Slow" as the fourth track on the album.[4] It was first previewed by Ye when he went to a restaurant in Florida on December 10.[5] While it wasn't played at the Miami and Las Vegas listening parties for VULTURES 1, it was previewed in full on December 14 on Power 92.[6] On January 25, 2024, producer AyoAA posted an Instagram story, saying "TIME MOVIN SLOW".[7] However, the song did not release on the album.
On February 29, producer Fya Man confirmed in an Instagram story that he co-produced the song, and also indicated that it will likely release on VULTURES 2.[8] On March 23, producer SHDØW played the song at an event. It featured slightly different production compared to what was previously heard.[9] He later played the same version of the song on Instagram Live on May 29.[10]
On August 2, the song was listed as the second track on a track list from the Yeezy website.[11] Most of the melody in the released version was replaced with vocals from the Hooligans. The drums on the released version were taken from an unreleased version of "SLIDE", which was produced by Cruza.[12]
When the deluxe officially released onto YouTube on October 17, the song had been renamed to "TIME MOVES SLOW". It's unclear why. When the song was updated on November 10, Cruza's production was notably removed.
