"TMZ" (short for "Thirty Mile Zone") is an unreleased song by Kanye West created in early-2018 for his unreleased album LOVE EVERYONE that was repurposed into Ye.[1] The song features 070 Shake as well as reference vocals from artist Hassan Khaffaf.

Production[]

The song runs at a tempo of 122 BPM with an F key and a minor mode.[2] It features a sample of "Pantun Lama" by Murry.[3]

Background[]

The song was said to initially have been created in April 2018 during the final known sessions for Kanye's album LOVE EVERYONE. At this point in time, The song had likely been a rough freestyle idea. The song would be worked on again on the 18th of May when Shake would record her feature for the song.[4]

The final known time the song had been worked on was on the 29th where Hassan Khaffaf had recorded a reference intended for Kanye for the song. The file's date is said to span between March and May,[5] though it's very likely the song is from May as that is around the time period 070 Shake had recorded her vocals for the song. It's unclear if the song was ever finished.

The song appeared on the final LOVE EVERYONE track listing on May 18, listed on the track list as the fifth track behind "Moonlight".[6]

Lyrics[]

[Chorus: Hassan Khaffaf]
Love me baby, just this once
I like to think on that night
We both fell in love
Drugs ain't gotta be perfect, why are we?
But we love drugs
So let's just be free
Love me baby, just this once
I like to think on that night
We both fell in love
Drugs ain't perfect, why are we?
We don't gotta be
Let's just be free
