This article features content which is widely regarded to be the Best Of Kanye West's discography. Though chosen to be highlighted as one of his best, this is always subject to change.

Not to be confused with "The Glory" from Graduation, or the other unreleased track "Glory" with Victory Elyse Boyd.

This Is The Glory, also known as Glory, is an unreleased song by Kanye West and Dr. Dre, featuring Snoop Dogg. The song may have been worked on for the unreleased album Jesus Is King II but came to prominence shortly before the release of Donda (2021).[1]

Background[]

The song is said to originate from JIK II studio sessions. The "pressure" and "message" sample supposedly came from an unheard Ye track titled "Grace N Mercy" from around then. The first version of the song had featured appearances from Snoop Dogg and Dem Jointz and had a reference done by A$AP Ferg during the JIK II studio sessions.

This Is The Glory, like the other two JESUS IS KING II tracks, was carried into the DONDA: WITH CHILD sessions. The track was reworked during this period heavily, with an early version completely cutting off Dre's verse and replacing it with a second half that featured Snoop Dogg and new vocals from the Sunday Service Choir as well as a spoken word outro. This portion was also cut ultimately and was reworked into its own song, South Carolina, causing Snoop's verse to also be cut from the song, leaving only Kanye and Dem Jointz on the song.

The song was worked on throughout the Pio Pico and Mercedes-Benz sessions, but very little. Justin Austin vocals were added to the last known version of the song.

The first time the song title was revealed was in a September 2020 tweet by Ye,[2] and the first time it was heard by some part of the public was in some videos from Kim's birthday party the following month.[3] The next summer, the song was played in a Beats advertisement that also featured track athlete Sha'Carri Richardson.[3] The song was also heard in preparation for the second Atlanta listening party for Donda (2021),[4] but was not played during it or any others. The song had leaked in full on the date of September 21st, 2022.

The song had been briefly played at the China VULTURES listening party on September 28, 2024 before the song had been paused and changed to TALKING. It's likely the song has been brought back into reconsideration for Kanye's 12th solo studio album, Bully, though it is unclear if any changes have been made to the song.[5]

Lyrics[]

[Intro]
Nah, I got one more thing and I'm just about done

[Chorus]
This is the glory, this is the victory (Hah)
This is a majesty, y'all pay the tapestry (Hah)
Y'all know they misery, I know the energy
And I know the strategy (Hah)
Stay cool (Amazing), start up a new label, follow Jesus

[Interlude]
Some of y'all still ain't got it-got it-got it
Who God is to you-you-you (Yes, sir)
We have no pressure
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
That's the journey goin' forward
Everybody wanna look for comfort
Everybody want comfort and joy
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Don't that sound like a message?
You had to run your feelings- (Some of y'all still ain't got it)
Who God is to you

[Verse]
Use this gospel for this mission impossible, clear?
Gotta let God’s love rain down if you here
When is that real love when the family fightin’ back the tears?
And I mean even with the cars, money, boats, and the lears?
Rain down, rain down, rain down, rain down
'Til the devil gained his reign down
Take the pain out and I'm-
Back where you started and found out that everything is gone
I was tryna get this laid off
Bernie mad 'cause the way we made off (Got it)
Simplify, God, please exemplify (Hah)
These corporate pimps will try to drain you 'til you done and die
All these ungrateful vibes, bringin' out my other side
(Don't that sound just like us?)
Look into my eyes (Woo!), you don’t see the love inside? (Hah)
Use the gospel, use the word, use the scripture (Hah)
For every Jezebel (My energy) postin’ all the pictures (hah)
You gon' put the internet before your family? (Hah)
You know what? You deserve to drive a Camry (Hah)
Because, it's because of you they don't know the hard times
We gotta find, leavin' this ain't negative, some of my loves
I'ma use my love, I'ma use it for the better
I done wrote you a scarlet letter

[Outro]
Some of y'all still ain't got it
Who God is to you

[Intro]
Now
What if all this time, I was walkin' with the divine and didn't know?
'Cause I was blind, but the light continued to shine (And I know)
Favor must be mine, and no matter how high I climb
I know this atmosphere and altitude, intervention divine, cuh
That's on my mama, cuh
Nah, let me take that back
That's on God, cuz

[Verse 1]
As I look up at the sky
My mind starts trippin', a tear drops my eye
Now as the streets start to riot
I put my faith in the word, and that's word to the wise man

[Verse 2]
How many sins do you think that I committed?
Me say many, say me, say many, many, many (Oh, shit)
How many times do you think I've been acquitted? (One, two)
Me say many, say me, me say, me say, me say many (Oh)
How many times did I make some bad decisions? (Alright, yeah)
Many, haha, me say many, many, many (Woo)
How many crimes am I thankful for forgiveness?
Many, now me say many, many, many

[Outro]
God, lay me down to sleep
I'm prayin' for my soul to keep
If I should die before I wake
The bear in me with 808's

[Intro]
Ride with me
Stand with me, ah
All we really got is us
In God we trust

[Verse]
Headline, man down, enough is enough
Spent my whole life livin' this from dawn to dusk
Far from the norm, make no more, ignorin' us
Been through the storm, I was born victorious
Big in my city, then became notorious
Ah, yeah, all that together now
We gon' push that devil out, everything gon' level out
Let's make rap great again, yeah, that's your new MAGA hat (Woo)
Got that passion back, how you gon' be mad at that?
Doc Dre in this, woo, you know what's after that, uh
Easy as a Sunday morning, woke up feeling enormous
Really, I'm just warming up
This is him, you've been waiting to hear that voice again (Woo)
It's evident, I'm right back in my element
I'm settled in, better than I've ever been
I'm 'bout to set a precedent
Hip-hop's bible, Old Testament
My scripture's gospel, effortless Exodus (Ahh)
Feel like the world been waitin' on me to weigh in (Ahh)
Revelation of a revolution, say when
Words for the laymen, count the conversation
Perpetual excellent testimony, amen
Something for this generation, time to lift the curse
No more procrastinatin' nation, time to put in work
If you wanna stand for something, gotta kneel first
This might be your last supper, get your meal first
We're better together even when it feel worse
On my survival since my arrival on planet Earth
You n***** still worthy, this my Emmitt Till verse

[Outro]
Church
