Background

The beat was initially made some time during the very late Thank God For Drugs sessions in early-2013 and had been intended for Kanye West to record over for the album according to Machinedrum himself, though instead of clarifying it was Thank God For Drugs he simply had just stated Yeezus though it is very unlikely it had been made during the Yeezus sessions as Rick Rubin had been the album's last producer. The beat had been slightly different back then and Kanye had recorded for it, though like the majority of the other tracks it was left unused after Rick Rubin had began work on the album.

Seven years later in 2020, the song was reworked again by Machinedrum with added production and released as an additional single alongside the release of "Kain Train" featuring Freddie Gibbs on August 5th, 2020. The song would later rerelease alongside the actual record on October 9th of that year as the closing track to the album.
