"Vultures" (stylized in all caps on album) is the eleventh track from Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign's collaborative studio album, VULTURES 1 (2024). It released as a single on November 22, 2023, serving as the lead single from the album. It features guest verses from Bump J and Lil Durk.

A remixed version of the song, titled "Vultures (Havoc Version)", was released via a music video on February 8, 2024, before releasing on the Vultures Pack EP the same day. It was produced mainly by Havoc.

On the same day, Ye released a second remix of the song, titled "VULTURES (Juice Version)", on Instagram via a music video. This version of the song is very similar to the single, although it removes the intro tag, adds new adlibs from Lil Durk, and includes Ye's "Perfect!" tag. The version released on the album keeps the intro tag and removes the "Perfect!" tag.

Production

The outro samples audio from Three 6 Mafia's 1994 song, "Pimpin' & Robbin'".

Background

This song originated as a solo Bump J song. Ye apparently liked the song so much that he took it for VULTURES 1. According to Joyboy, the intro to this song was taken from another VULTURES-era song that was scrapped. Joyboy has also stated that the song wasn't worked on during the Italy sessions and was created in Saudi Arabia. Really Doe and CyHi are said to have recorded reference tracks for the song.

On November 17, 2023, the track was first played in its entirety on the Chicago radio station, Power 92. When the song released on streaming platforms, however, Lil Durk's verse was noticeably removed for unknown reasons. On an Instagram story, Durk would state "Be lucky I'm humble look at it as your blessing" seemingly in response to this. Durk's verse was readded back a day later. On December 8, Ty Dolla $ign posted a track list of the upcoming VULTURES 1 album, listing "Vultures" as the twelfth track. On January 31, a new track list for VULTURES 1 was revealed, moving the song up to the eleventh track on the album.

On January 22, 2024, a snippet of an updated version of the song was heard in a video. This version, named the Havoc Version, features different production compared to the single. On January 23, Kanye posted a teaser trailer of the three-volume series of VULTURES albums. In it, the new version of the song was previewed. On the same day, another snippet of the Havoc Version was posted.

Music video

On January 23, 2024, Rolling Stone reported that a music video for "Vultures" would be releasing soon. The music video for the Havoc Version released on YouTube on February 8. The video, directed by Jon Rafman, is completely comprised of scenes generated by AI.

On the same day, the music video for the Juice Version was released on Instagram, and later uploaded to YouTube on February 12. This video was directed by Ye and Aus Onda.

Trivia

• This is the first song that Kanye released on streaming services since his antisemitic comments in late 2022. However, the first song that Kanye released in any capacity following his comments was "Someday We'll All Be Free", which released exclusively on the InfoWars website and Instagram before being taken down from both sites.
