"WE DID IT" is the fifteenth track to Kanye West's eleventh solo studio album, DONDA 2 (2022). The song features verses from Baby Keem and Migos members Quavo and Offset.

The song's lyrics revolve around the artists' current success and the product of their hard work.

Background

The song was initially created some time in Early-February of 2022, presumably on the third as on that day the first version of the cut-down freestyle would be created by Ojivolta. The following day, DaBaby would meet up with Kanye to record for the song alongside two other songs for Donda 2; though designed to be a reference, DaBaby also likely designed the song to serve as a feature to the song, though his verse was not used in any further along versions of the song.

Six days later, Kanye would meet up with Migos member Offset as well as Playboi Carti who both recorded for this song, though Carti had only recorded backing adlibs for it. It's unclear if Carti ever recorded a full verse for the song, though it's unlikely. The following day, Beach House would produce a version of the song. On the 11th, a version of the song featuring a complete demumble of the freestyle to the song by Dem Jointz would be created, featuring a nearly 3-minute freestyle along with Carti's adlibs that had been recorded the previous day.

On February 15th, other Migos rapper Quavo would record for the song along with Offset and Carti. The following day, Offset's verse would be cut off of the song for Quavo, though this was only temporary. Just two days later on the 18th, Kanye posted a track list for Donda 2, listing "We Did It Kid" as the tenth song. The third member of the Migos Takeoff would record for the song alongside Rich The Kid, likely in the same session in which Plain Jane had been recorded on the 19th; will.i.am also recording for a version of the song on that same day.

Baby Keem would record a reference for the song presumably some time on the 19th or 20th which would later be cut down and used as a chorus, as evident in The Game's reference for the song dating on the 21st. Quavo and Offset would both record a separate joint verse for the song that same day. The song was first previewed at the listening party for Donda 2 on February 22, 2022 with uncensored vocals.

Some of the early versions of the song feature ad-libs from Playboi Carti, although they were later scrapped. On February 18, 2022, Kanye posted a track list for Donda 2, listing "We Did It Kid" as the tenth song. The song was first previewed at the listening party for Donda 2 on February 22, 2022 with uncensored vocals. The following day, the song would be met with an official release via stem player, albeit with no Kanye verse besides the mumbly bridge between Keem's and Quavo & Offset's.

After the song's release on the stem player, the song would continue to be worked on for the album's final release, with Kanye having his writers Fat Money and Fivio Foreign write his verses on the song on the 2nd of March. On the 19th, Kanye would record for his verse, taking heavily from Fivio's reference verse. In April 2022, Kanye planned to bring back the GOOD Fridays series and release four singles from the album, one of which was set to be "We Did It Kid".

According to Rodri, the song was worked on for YEBU at one point. The finished song has presumably since been scrapped as both of these projects have been scrapped as well.

On April 25, 2025, The filename was seen in a dropbox accidentally leaked by Digital Nas on a livestream with Adin Ross. The version that was played contains the finished Ye verse, no alt 808 on his verse and is Censored. This exact version of the song was later released as the fifteenth track to DONDA 2 on April 29th of that year.

• This is the final ever Migos song in existence, as in the same year member Takeoff would unfortunately be murdered in Houston, Texas at the age of 28.
  • As a result, this also serves as Kanye's second and final released collaboration with the Migos, the four artists first collaborating in 2018 when Kanye had produced their song "BBO (Bad Bitches Only)".
