"WE LOVE YOU" is an unreleased song by the hip-hop superduo ¥$ (Kanye West & Ty Dolla $ign) that had been intended for both WAR with James Blake and No I.D. as well as Bad Bitch Play Book (2023). The song is said to feature vocals from Kanye West's daughter North West and his collective the Sunday Service Choir as well as production from James Blake and No I.D..
Background[]
The song is said to date back to the WAR sessions with James Blake and No I.D. similar to other songs BOBBY DIGITAL and TALKING.[1] Whether James or Kanye had ever recorded for it during these sessions and if North West or Sunday Service Choir were on it at this point is unclear.
The song was shelved for a period of time when WAR had been cancelled amidst Kanye's antisemitic rants and Kanye had began to focus work on his own solo album which had been titled YEBU.[2] However, when Kanye met up with Ty Dolla $ign during his birthday in Italy and YEBU was scrapped, the song appeared to have been brought back.
The song appeared on the infamous Bad Bitch Play Book 40-track listing as the thirty-fourth track, though in reality the track would have actually been the thirty-fifth as there are two thirty-second tracks.[3] The song that was worked on amidst these sessions was confirmed to feature North West and the Sunday Service Choir leading many to believe it was an early version of MATTHEW, though this was later confirmed to be false.
The song was last seen on a late-October listing for Bad Bitch Play Book as the sixteenth track.[4] Whether the song was worked on after this point is unclear.
Trivia[]
- This is the last known time Kanye has collaborated with the Sunday Service Choir.
- While their vocals are present on the released song "MY SOUL" on VULTURES 2, they had recorded for that song over three years since this song's creation as the song had initially been intended for Donda (2021).[5]
