Yasiin Bey (born Dante Terrell Smith, December 11, 1973), previously and more commonly known by his stage name Mos Def, is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, and actor. He began his hip hop career in 1994 and grew in popularity throughout the later years of that decade.[1]

He worked with Kanye West in the early years of his career, with one of the earliest clips of their work together being him and Ye rapping "Two Words" together in a room. Still going by the name Mos Def, he appeared on "Two Words" from The College Dropout (2004), as well as "Drunk and Hot Girls" and "Good Night" from Graduation (2007). Years later, he appeared on the titular track for Ye and Kid Cudi's joint album Kids See Ghosts (2018).[1][2][3]
